As a professional and environmentally conscious organisation Clearwater acknowledges the impact that its operations may potentially have on the environment. For a long time, Environmental matters have been at the heart of our business decisions and our operational procedures, leading to the development of our Environmental Policy and our Environmental Management System. It was logical that the next step should be to attain formal accreditation of our Environmental Management System to the ISO14001 international standard.
Following a full assessment visit at our Chemical Production and Laboratory facility in the West Midlands we attained certification to ISO14001. Our accreditation certificate states that it is applicable to:
“The production, storage and delivery of chemical products for industrial water treatment, water hygiene and air hygiene programmes and the processing of chemical and microbiological samples from water and air systems”

Combatting Bird Flu with Chlorine Dioxide
The threat of bird flu has lead to an increased demand for protective measures on poultry farms and hatcheries. Chlorine dioxide can assist as part of a bio-security regime. Two key areas have been identified for protection - vehicle movement and visitors. Chlorine dioxide has already been used to spray the underbodies of vehicles that are entering and leaving sites. It is also being used to wash down poultry houses between flock changes to ensure maximum disinfection.
