FOOD SUPPLIER NEEDED COOLING TREATMENT
A large food processing client based in the South of England and a major supplier to supermarkets throughout the UK and Europe, needed their Cooling towers maintained to optimise factory cooling and maintain food quality.
Clearwater Technology was invited to take over and maintain the water treatment regime on site, in line with ACOP L8 2001 guidelines.
- Clearwater was asked to install ACOP L8 compliant dosing equipment.
- During initial routine legionella sampling a high legionella count was recorded, requiring an emergency shutdown and disinfection.
- A team of skilled operatives was quickly assembled and the chlorination works were carried out the same evening.
Post chlorination samples for Legionella and TVC were all clear, showing that the chlorination works had been successful.
- Clearwater highlighted the need for the client to have an up to date water risk assessment.
The client was then reassured by the knowledge they now met the necessary compliance regulations required by law.
